Meet the new JROTC Instructor

We are excited to welcome First Sergeant Benjamin Collins to VFMA as he takes over as the Academy’s Army JROTC Instructor! 1SG Collins is from Greenwood, Ind. and joined the Army in 2003 as an Airborne Infantryman. During his tenure, he deployed six times in support of Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan and Operation Iraqi Freedom in Iraq.

1SG Collins comes to us well-versed in classroom instruction and hands-on training that will translate well as the JROTC Instructor here at VFMA. His previous jobs include Senior Drill Sergeant while stationed at Fort Moore (Ga.), ROTC Instructor at Ball State University in Muncie, Ind. and Senior Military Science Instructor at MIT.
